Microsoft has started to align all Microsoft certifications role-based. Previously, certifications were based on a certain functional area or a certain application. But since there are gaps between a functional area and role-based tasks, Microsoft has decided to align the certifications more to the role in the company.

Certifications for a particular role now resemble a career path.

There are 3 levels: Fundamentals --> Associate --> Expert

The "Expert" level is not available for every role. For roles in Dynamics 365, the "Associate" level is the last level.

Available roles for Microsoft products:

  • Administrator
  • AI Engineer
  • Business Analyst
  • Business User
  • Data Engineer
  • Data Scientist
  • Developer
  • Functional Consultant
  • Solution Architect

The following roles are available in the "Business Apps" category. This category bundles the certifications for Sales, Customer Service, Field Service, Marketing, Financial Consultant, Manufacturing Consultant, and Supply Chain Consultant.

Prepare with Dynamics 365 Demo Environments

A really good way to prepare for Microsoft certifications is to create Dynamics 365 demo environments. In these trial environments, you can recreate the scenarios you have been asked for in the exams.

In the Dynamics 365 area you can request a demo environment for the following applications:

  • Dynamics 365 for Sales
  • Dynamics 365 for Customer Service
  • Dynamics 365 for Field Service
  • Dynamics 365 for Project Service Automation
  • Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations
  • Dynamics 365 for Business Central
  • Dynamics 365 for Talent
  • Dynamics 365 for Retail

Be careful when buying PDF documents from dubious Internet vendors. These often contain the right questions - but not the right answers.
