Microsoft has not only announced its  update, but changes to its various license models as well. If you are curious about the different user license options, we recommend that you simply read on.

User Subscription for Professional Users

This is the perfect option for all end users and organizations that want to make use of all of the features that Microsoft CRM has to offer. From marketing to customer care and sales force automation, the large majority of CRM end users is going to fall in this category. This license comes with full write and read privileges. Unlike the Essential and Basic licenses, the following features are also included:

  • Database administration
  • Sales opportunities
  • Campaigns
  • Marketing lists
  • Microsoft Social Engagement access (10+ professional licenses required)
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 RM Unified Service Center (enterprise case management)
  • Parature Knowledge Integration

If you have purchased more than 25 Professional licenses, you will be able to take advantage of a development database that is separate from your CRM system. There is no additional fee for this service.

Enterprise License

This license type includes the complete Professional plan functionality that has been described above. In addition, Microsoft Dynamics Marketing is part of this license type and allows for the following:

  • Resource Management
  • Enterprise-level marketing
  • E-mail marketing
  • Scoring leads
  • Marketing analytics

Selected social engagement features have also been added to this type of license. Responding to Facebook and Twitter posts is now an option, as is using social posts to create CRM leads.

Essential License

All light-weight CRM users will want to opt for this type of license. Managing custom CRM entities is possible under this license type.

Please keep in mind that Microsoft also allows you to create your very own license plan that includes all of the features that your organization requires. However, you will need to purchase at least five Professional licenses in order to be able to make use of this offer. 5GB default data storage is offered with any CRM license. Keep in mind that this is shared among all of the CRM end users in your organization. A maximum of 50GB data storage is possible. For every 20 Professional licenses purchased, your storage increases by 2.5GB without any additional cost to you. However, you can also opt to purchase additional databases storage instead and will be charged an incremental fee.

Mobile Apps for Microsoft Dynamics CRM

Access To CRM Mobile Apps

Complimentary access to CRM mobile apps comes with any Microsoft Dynamics 365 license type. While the iPad and Windows 8 apps are already available, further CRM apps for your iPhone, Windows and Android phone are expected to be released in the near future.

Parature Functionality

Since more CRM end users are going to be able to take advantage of Parature functionality thanks to the latest CRM update, we would like to take a closer look at the different Parature capabilities. Parature Self-Service provides customer access. Employee access is available. However, an Essential or Professional license is required for this type of access.

Parature Integrated Knowledge is part of both the Professional and Enterprise license. However, since only read-only access is granted, at least one end user in the organization will have to purchase a full Parature license in order to be able to take advantage of the editing and authoring features. Being able to create knowledge posts in CRM as well as the feedback management option are two of the main perks of a full Parature license. Also make sure to check out this chart for a comparison of the different Microsoft Dynamics CRM license features.
